Ganz plötzlich zeigt sich der Schamane
Ich bekam drei Hobel aus einer alten Schreiner-Werkstatt geschenkt.
Schönes altes Holz, doch niemand hobelt noch so per Hand.
Wenn ich sie also nicht als Hobel sehe,
sondern als Figuren, findet die Verwandlung statt:
Es zeigen sich sofort drei stehende Gestalten: Schamane mit Wolf und Rabe.
Ich bin erschüttert und berührt von der Kraft der Wesen.
So einfach und klar und präsent.
Und das Auge des Künstlers ist notwendig,
sie so zu sehen, wie sie sein können.

- Pfeil und Bogen aus Namibia

All of a sudden the shaman shows up
I was given three planes from an old carpenter’s workshop.
Beautiful old wood, but no one planes by hand like that anymore.
So when I see them not as planes, but as figures, the transformation takes place:
Three standing figures immediately appear: Shaman with wolf and raven.
I am surprised and touched by the power of these beings.
So simple and clear and present.
And the eye of the artist was necessary
to see them as they can be.
